The rare Ixia is an indigenous flowers found in the Tulbagh District, particularly amongst the vineyards on the farm Theuniskraal.

This wine estate has been in the Jordaan family for almost a century and the Ixia wines are made by Andries Jordaan, the third generation to grow wine in this pristine corner of the Cape Winelands where life is still slow enough to savour simple beauty, be it a rare flower or a good wine.

Lomond Vineyards, located 34° 34' south, near Gansbaai, is one of very few wineries with a Cape Agulhas District appellation. Located about 8 km from the sea as the crow flies, the 800ha farm is kept cool by the south-west and south-east winds that blow during the summer months. Its extreme southerly location, proximity to the sea and varied soils with unique terroir, contribute to some very distinctive single-vineyard wines that amply reflect their origins. The unpretentious Theuniskraal Riesling won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Wine Show in London in 1950 and since then this wine has become a Cape legend. Made by Andries Jordaan senior, whose mother bought the farm in the 1920s, this wine, amongst others in the range, is still being made today by grandson Andries in much the same unpretentious manner and with even greater success.

Named for the deep, red Tukulu soil in which the bush vines grow on the farm Papkuilsfontein in the Groenekloof near Darling. The farm is owned by Papkuilsfontein Vineyards, a black-owned company. The Tukulu Pinotage is often rated one of the ABSA Top Ten Pinotages and a regular winner of Veritas Gold and Double Gold medals while the Tukulu Chenin Blanc is a fine example of just how good a Chenin can be.
